# Launching a token

Launch your own token on Robinhood Chain in one transaction. No waitlist, no listing committee. Your token opens in a **real, locked Uniswap pool** and trades from the first block. No bonding curve, no migration, no waiting.

## How to launch

1. Go to [/deploy](https://hoodswaps.xyz/deploy) and connect your wallet.
2. Add your **name** and **ticker**, plus an optional image, website, and socials.
3. Set your **starting liquidity** (the ETH you seed) and, optionally, a small **creator allocation**.
4. Read the disclaimer, check the box, and hit **Launch**.

One transaction deploys your token, creates its Uniswap pool, seeds it with your ETH, and locks the liquidity. Your token is tradeable on HoodSwaps immediately and shows up on the **Just Launched** board.

## How a launch works

Your token launches with a fixed **1,000,000,000 supply**. In a single transaction the launchpad:

1. Deploys a clean, fixed-supply ERC-20 (no tax, no mint, no owner, no hooks).
2. Creates a **Uniswap V3 pool** paired with WETH and seeds it with your ETH and the token supply.
3. **Locks the LP forever** in a fee-collecting locker. Nobody, including you, can pull the liquidity.
4. Starts a short anti-snipe window (see below).
5. Verifies the token's source on the explorer automatically.

There is no bonding curve and no migration step. The token trades in a real pool from block one, so it shows up on aggregators and wallets right away.

## You set the opening price

The **ETH you seed sets the opening price**, and therefore the opening market cap. Seed more ETH and the token opens higher; seed less and it opens lower. The launch form shows the opening cap live as you type. You can also take an optional **creator allocation** (up to 15% of supply); the rest seeds the pool. Zero allocation is the cleanest look, with all supply in the pool and no insider bag.

## Anti-snipe protection

For roughly the first **two blocks** after launch, the launchpad limits snipers:

* The **launch block is creator-only** (plus any team wallets you list).
* For the rest of the window, each other buyer is capped at **5% of supply held** and **5.5% per buy**.
* **Sells and normal transfers are never restricted.**
* After the window the limits end automatically and the token behaves as a plain ERC-20.

This is a revert-only guard. It can reject an oversized snipe, but it can never move or take funds, and it can't block sells. Honeypot scanners read it as safe.

## Fees

Trading happens in your Uniswap pool, which charges a **1% swap fee**. Those fees accrue to the locked position and are split **70% to you, 30% to the platform**. Because the liquidity is locked, the principal stays put forever while the fees remain collectable. There is also a small flat **launch fee (0.0005 ETH)**.

## What it costs

Your **starting liquidity** (the ETH you seed into the pool) plus a flat **0.0005 ETH launch fee** and network gas. The liquidity is not a cost you lose; it becomes your token's locked pool, and it earns you 70% of every trade fee.

## Clean, verified, locked

* **Clean tokens only.** Plain fixed-supply ERC-20s with no transfer hook, no tax, no mint, and no owner, so honeypot scanners read them clean and they trade everywhere.
* **Auto-verified.** Every token's source is verified on the explorer within moments of launch. No manual step.
* **Liquidity locked, fees kept.** The pool's LP is locked forever in a fee-collecting locker. Nobody can pull it, but the 1% swap fees stay collectable and flow 70/30 to you and the platform.
* **One recognizable deployer.** Every HoodSwaps token is created by the same verified launchpad, so your launch inherits a clean, consistent track record.

## Before you launch

* Launching is **permanent and irreversible**. The token and its pool live on-chain forever; you can't edit or undo them.
* Your **liquidity locks forever**. Nobody, including you, can pull it. You still collect 70% of the fees it earns.
* Your **starting liquidity is real ETH** and sets the opening price.
* The launchpad is in **beta**. Launch small, and only with what you can afford to lose.

> HoodSwaps is a non-custodial tool that deploys your token and its pool, not a broker, custodian, exchange, or advisor. Launching carries risk and you are solely responsible for your token and any outcome. Nothing here is financial or legal advice.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://hoodswaps.gitbook.io/hoodswaps-docs/launching-a-token.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
